Where to shop in Istanbul? Shopping tour

Istanbul is full of big shopping malls offering all the brands from the most luxurious to the most standard chains. You could make your credit card melt in Zorlu (located in the Besiktas district), nearly 180 shops and nice restaurants. It’s very modern and not too huge so you won’t be spending all day. You will find an Apple store there, never know …

Akmerkez, located in Etiler, favorite district of the stambouliote elite. This shopping centre has nearly 250 shops and is renowned as one of the most beautiful shopping centres in Europe. Fashionistas will find their happiness there.

In Sariyer, you will have Istinye Park it is the other mall where I like to shop shop, huge with its 280 shops, its own bazaar, its cinemas and shows. You can spend a day there! But you won’t do that little Padawans, because there are so many more extraordinary places…

If you want to hang out and do some more unique shops outside, the Nisantasi district is hype. Take this opportunity to head to Kruton and test their homemade dessert with a sublime latte!

The Cukurcuma district is ideal for those who love authentic memories, small and unique art objects. Here you can find mainly galleries of art, antiques and antique shops in the beautiful neo-classical houses.

Bazar
In Turkish « kapalı çarşı » means open market.

It is one of the largest covered markets in the world with nearly 60 streets and more than 4000 shops. It can attract up to half a million people a day, so don’t be agoraphobic, or even claustrophobic, otherwise forget about this place!

You will see that it is very easy to get lost in this maze of corridors and that it is better not to go there with children!

Are you looking for a leather jacket or fur? Leather, a legacy of Anatolian civilizations, is very well known in Turkey and of very good quality. My favorite shop is Koç.  Here you will find some very beautiful pieces, from the classic to the latest trend. The boss, Sinan, has three shops, two in the big bazaar and one a little outside.
